Light a Candle
The earthly life for DuWayne ended peacefully at his home in Brooklyn, NY, on May 26, 2014. DuWayne was born on June 5, 1977 in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt FR, Germany to Mr. Byron Alexander Brown and Mrs. Yvonne Cleopatra Brown of New Milford, CT. In 1977, the family relocated from Germany to New York where he lived for 2 years before relocating to Danbury, CT. By 1985, the family decided to move to New Milford, CT where the family home still remains today. DuWayne attended Henry Abbott Technical High School in Danbury, CT. After graduating high school DuWayne was never restricted to a particular location because he would go wherever his jobs carried him. DuWayne embraced knowledge and felt free to embrace his individuality. He was very passionate about reading the Bible, writing poems and of his Jamaican culture. But it was through his love for music and his God given talent of writing that he could do what he enjoyed the most on a daily basis. He was able to land many jobs writing music, performing songs and planning/promoting parties. DuWayne was full of excitement, humor and loved by so many. He made friends throughout the years as he traveled and will leave them with many memorable moments. Most of all, his family and friends will remember his beautiful smile that will be forever etched in our hearts. DuWayne leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy, a loving wife, Joyce Sinclair; one son, DuWayne Anthony Brown Jr of Danbury, CT; two daughters, Skyzae Brown and Unity Brown, both of Waterbury, CT. He is also survived by one brother, Darrel Brown of New Milford, CT; one sister, Shaneka Brown of Danbury, CT; six uncles including a very special uncle, Everton McCrea; one aunt; maternal grandparent, Loris McCrea and paternal grandparents, Ivey and Enos Brown of Brooklyn, NY; one nephew, Saevon James of Danbury, CT; and a host of cousins, which includes Anthony McCrea and Adama Brown with whom he shared a special bond, and a host of friends who will miss him very much. Funeral services will take place at 3:00pm on Saturday June 14th at the York Breaking Deliverance Ministry in Brooklyn, NY with the Rev. Floyd Gilmore officiating.
